In August, after a very difficult time at work since January I finally had time to sit down and be really honest with myself. I weighed around 87 kilos and couldn’t bear to shop for clothes or look in the mirror, kidding myself that size clothes still fitted. My Crohn’s disease symptoms were getting worse and this was restricting days out and long car journeys. I was sure that my husband couldn’t still find me attractive despite constant assurance to the
contrary.
Every time we were due to go out or visit friends, I got into the most terrible state about what to wear, sometimes even ended up not going because I was so unhappy with myself. In the planning of any social event my moods were terrible and I snapped at everyone. I knew that I needed and wanted to lose weight and that exercise and a diet were needed. I was also fairly sure that I couldn’t do it without help – otherwise why was I in this mess in the first
place!
I googled personal trainer in Malvern/Ledbury and found Ollie’s website and contacted him. I can
honestly say it was one of the most positive things I have ever done. It was also a difficult thing to do
– it meant admitting to someone I had never met that I was so unhappy with myself – something
I hadn’t told anyone!
Ollie is thoughtful, considerate, always encouraging and has never made me
feel silly or inadequate. I have been training with Ollie three times a week and following (mostly!) his nutrition plan for four months. The training sessions aren’t easy but they are great fun. Boring is not in Ollie’s
vocabulary! Each session is different and you never know quite what to expect. The nutrition plan
seems restrictive at first but as you get to know Ollie and read his articles on the reasons why
certain foods are restricted or eliminated it makes complete sense and you don’t want those foods
anyway.
All this and the journey is not over. As I write this on a Sunday afternoon I am looking forward, albeit with a certain amount of trepidation, to another week of training and planning a week of healthy eating.
(It has been almost 7 years since Ali wrote this and she is still with us every week looking better than ever and doing brilliant).

Here is my very own transformation from 5 years ago using the principles we teach. I’d tried loads of diets and got extremely confused about what I needed to do. In the process i’d managed to gain weight and become frustrated and felt completely lost.

Luckily I researched endlessly, studying everything I could about weight-loss, health and fitness until I finally cracked it. After that i’ve never looked back and i’ve managed to not only transform myself, but also the lives of hundreds of my clients with my Personal Training systems.

I’d been “weight training” for about 3 years prior to employing Ollie’s services. I naively thought I didn’t need to be taught how to exercise, not when I had it all written down in my trusty men’s health mag! So, armed with this endless supply of get rich quick workouts plus my protein shakes I bashed many a session out in my ghetto garage gym. Following to the letter their regimen. Reps, rest, refuelling the whole shhbang with the encouraging headlines …6pack in 6 weeks…arms like these in two months …etc etc floating in my head. 6 weeks came.. And went, yes I was seeing gains but definitely not what I’d been PROMISED! Stick at it stick at it I told myself, and I did ,though dreading each session bored while doing it, skipped workouts. I wasn’t getting very far to say the least.

Then I read an article about Olympic lifting, watched a few videos on YouTube and wondered how you would go about learning it.This is where Ollie comes in! After watching the how to videos and trying to emulate (massive fail) I decided to seek professional help! I’ve known Ollie for some years now so on the first “lesson” there was no need for the get to know you chat that normally precedes. Ollie’s teaching methods are excellent, he doesn’t rush through anything and has a pragmatic approach which makes complex moves like the clean and jerk a lot easier to digest piece by piece building up to the full picture once all the component parts are in place not before.

Extra to the Olympic lifting tuition Ollie also taught me exercise’s that would aid my Olympic lifts like the windmills. Throughout the training sessions I’d ask Ollie nutrition questions trying to remember them. A fountain of knowledge. After following Ollie’s advice reps, rest refueling the whole shhbang, I’m stronger, leaner and healthier. I now can’t wait to get to the gym enjoy the session and never miss one. All in all in thoroughly happy with my progress and results due to Ollie’s assistance, I would recommend him to anyone, money well spent.
